A arte de Rappepa nasce do intuito de poder repor a identidade que entende estar em falta dentro das comunidades africanas e afrodescendentes periféricas e não periféricas. A carga ancestral, autêntica e franca inerente à sua expressão plástica conferem às suas obras uma originalidade própria. Movendo-se numa dinâmica que vai do grafismo à arte no espaço público e que não se limita a nenhum destes espaços e formatos, apresenta o caráter eminentemente colaborativo da sua ação artística, sendo o artista parte integrante do coletivo Unidigrazz.
Rappepa Bedju Tempu is the pseudonym of an urban painter and political activist. His subversive street art with social and political commentary can be found on streets, walls and trains. He has presented his work through mobile pieces. His work has been developed since 2014 with the aim of restoring the identity that is missing, through his trait and the authenticity of expression that he ancestrally carries. Rappepa’s art is born out of the desire to restore the identity that he believes is missing within peripheral and non-peripheral african and afro-descendant communities. The ancestral, authentic and frank charge inherent in his plastic expression gives his works an originality of their own. Moving in a dynamic that goes from graphics to art in the public space and which is not limited to any of these spaces and formats, he presents the eminently collaborative nature of his artistic action, the artist being an integral part of the Unidigrazz collective.
